This Day in Texas History: December 14, 1835 John E. Garvin enlists in the artillery, he will leave Bexar to go home to Gonzales and return with the Gonzales reinforcements. Garvin died defending the Alamo. The survivors of the Mexia expedition are executed Stephen F. Austin writes to the provisional government, pleas for cooperation with Mexican allies, also says it is important not to declare independence. The Mexican army leaves Bexar Edward Burleson sends his report to Governor Henry Smith on the Battle of Bexar Lewis Johnson volunteers to be in the Bexar command under James C. Neil. He will die defending the Alamo.
