Occupy Museums is please to participate in Momentas current exhibition WORK IT OUT with Peter Fend, Matt Greco & Gregory Sholette, Huong Ngo & Hong-An Truong, Nsumi Collective, Occupy Museums (Noah Fischer, Imani Jacqueline Brown, Tal Beery, Kenneth Pietrobono, and Arthur Polendo), Mierle Laderman Ukeles. We are exhibiting a relaunch of Debtfair-- Occupy Museum’s ongoing campaign to reveal the hidden debt in the art market. The extractive mechanisms of interest-bearing loans for tuition or credit cards increasingly keep artists poor, even as the overall wealth in the art market increases. A community of artists are making their debt struggles visible at debtfair.org, and for this exhibition at Momenta Art, Occupy Museums proposes physical interventions to display and exchange bundles of indebted art in galleries and art fairs. Culture is Collaborative, the Art Market is Extractive.
