This Friday, June 27th, at 11 a.m., the Law Society of New Brunswick will vote on whether or not to accredit the law school at Trinity Western University. As you know, anti-Christian activists have been lobbying ferociously to blacklist all graduates from that school. It’s outright religious discrimination – and several law societies in Canada have gone along with this unconstitutional bigotry. We must tell the New Brunswick law society that it is their duty to uphold the law, and forbid religious discrimination – not be a party to it! You have helped fight this noble fight already, by signing our petition. We are sending them your name – and more than 15,000 names of other Canadians demanding equality before the law. But I’d like to ask you to do one more thing: They’re voting this Friday morning, Atlantic Time. Will you please phone them on Thursday, to tell them to do the right thing? Your phone calls jammed the switchboard at the Manitoba Law Society earlier this spring – more than 1,000 people contacted them to tell them we expect them to uphold freedom of religion, not undermine it. Your calls made all the difference. Let’s win again – to fight against the forces of religious intolerance that would keep Christian lawyers out of the public square. Please phone the Law Society right now. Tell them that: 1. Anti-Christian bigotry and discrimination have no place in the legal profession; 2. We expect them to respect religious freedom; and 3. The whole country is watching what they do when they vote. Please be firm – but polite. You can call them at (506) 458-8540or email them [email protected]. Ask to speak to Marc Richard, their executive director. Please help me spread the word – and soon. Thursday is the last day to call, before the vote this Friday. Please e-mail friends and family who still haven’t signed and ask them to visit our website to sign it. I have purchased several hundred dollars worth of ads on Facebook, ringing the alarm for members of the general public to call, too.
