This Graeme Hart is supposed to be worth about $7 billion, And he buys yachts that worth $78 million. I have to wonder how much of that yacht is paid for with New Zealand taxpayers money. I did a Google search to how this guy made his money, he apparently buys businesses restructures them, merges with other businesses. so how many of the staff in these businesses, had to claim various government benefits because the wages they received was so low. Rent allowances, working for families, food grants, etc. Carter Holt Harvey was one of the businesses mentioned, and many jobs were lost in the restructuring, how many people on the unemployment, for how long? I wouldnt want to have that much money, which is just as well because I never will, but just imagine what could be done, if instead of buying a yacht in the guy, used the money that he obviously doesnt need, to help give back. I just checked there are 14 credit unions in New Zealands, if he was to invest that $78 million that would be about $5.5 million each credit union, then reinvest the interest over the years, hed still have his money, and how many thousands of people could be helped with small loans.... that would be something like I would do, rather than buying a yatch.
