This I know. Buzz has been desperately ill, according to his doctor. He languished in the hospital, afterward at home, and later in rehab. He lost his appetite and at least 30 pounds in three weeks. His spirits flagged and his will to live sometimes did as well. He became a weak shadow of the man he had always been. Traditional remedies were employed with limited success and some drawbacks. The bright spots that we observed seemed not to be related to conventional treatment ~ and we credit them to answered prayers of yours. Saturday night he was low enough that Will questioned following through with a long-planned personal itinerary. By Sunday night an obvious change began. (See post of 12-28 for reference.) Will was so encouraged that he followed his plan. Monday morning when I walked in Buzzs room his first words were, I am HUNGRY! I want you to go to Cracker Barrel and get me dumplings, turnip greens, white beans and a piece of cornbread! I did, and he scarfed it down. Renewed appetite began. His attitude also began to improve, as did his outlook for the future. By evening the days lab results were in and the numbers were vastly improved. At todays visit his doctor used the word thrilled at the sudden improvement, and he removed the annoying catheter with the condition that his plumbing needed to be working by four p.m. or it would be re-employed. When I told Dr. Smith what had happened the day before in the rehab room he said that he did not doubt the power of the event at all. Buzz then made another leap forward in insisting on more pt and BoJ for breakfast and Rice Box for dinner. And not only that but the plumbing started working at 3:30!!! In my mind and heart there is no explanation other than the extension of Gods grace in response to your prayers, and those of our shepherds ~ according to His promises ~ and all to His Glory! Again and again we give thanks for your faithful prayers. Please understand that this story is not over, and I tell it to you so that you can see clearly how important your part is, to increase your faith and mine, and to bring honor to the Lamb.
