This I will designate type C. The standard belly box (not all had the embossed GR) with iron buckles now nailed to the bottom , the front loops removed and reapplied to the back horizontally. A buff strap has been added to allow this to be used as a standard pouch. Note the two holes in the strap that line up perfectly with the small size GR plate which is attributed to Loyalist troops. There is an interesting ink inscription on the flap interior which appears to read ...No15 W. Robinson (then another word) . Maybe Todd can thrown some light on this. The figure of the Kings American Regiment shows how this box can be used as an ammo augment to a standard box or another one of these (Kochan research) by just running the strap through the back loops..
