This June 23-27 my hubby will be teaching a short-term intensive class called Role of Women in the Church: Women within the Pauline Communities. This course is an historical study of the women within the Pauline Communities. This historical study will be accomplished by examining all relevant passages within the Pauline Corpus of letters and illuminating them within their original context. Our knowledge of this context will be derived from exploring the Greco-Roman culture that provides the backdrop of Paul’s mission and the environment in which the early Christian communities he established were birthed. The book of Acts will also be employed where appropriate. It is possible to audit this class, meaning you may sit in on the class (either physically or virtually via the internet) and read (or not) any of the class materials. Auditors do not get class credit, but also pay less and dont have to write papers for a really difficult professor. :-) Speaking of difficult professors, for more information on taking this class, either for credit (in which case you have to come to the campus in St Louis) or audit, contact Dr Steven James Beardsley.
