This Lords Day - August 24, the Eleventh Sunday After Pentecost - I was privileged to preach at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cross Plains, TN. Ive known of this church for nearly 20 years, given it is in the Baptist Association where I pastored Springfield Baptist Church in Springfield, TN for five and one-half years. I preached twice - at the 8:00 a.m. traditional service in the chapel and at the 10:15 a.m. contemporary service in the sanctuary. Both were well-attended, but there were more at 10:15 and not just young folks. A lot of oldies were there and participating! The Worship Band at the contemporary gathering was outstanding. Kelly Raglin, Minister of Music, did a great job. I was able to renew some friendships of nearly 20 years and make some new ones. I had a great weekend in Springfield and Cross Plains. Thanks be to God.
