This MLK jr. weekend, as we approach the 50th anniversary the Selma to Montgomery March(es), many will go to the theater to see the movie of the same name. I look forward to viewing it, too, and I want to assume that most of us know that the selma is rooted in the word peaceful. That we lived peacefully together, might be our common dream and prayer. Yet Im reminded that without justice, there is no peace. Sadly, we have come to believe justice is something we seek and commonly that means bringing someone to justice and punishment for hurting another is what weve grown to load that the word justice with. However, true justice, Gods justice, is the beginning, its the God notion that we all start at the same place and life into and enjoy common good. Commonwealth is justice. In reflecting upon MLKjr and the ongoing movement toward commonwealth living - justice and then peace - I hope you will let the attached video move through you and move you. Its presumptuous of me, but I think captures the passion of the movement. youtu.be/nOYuhLNwh3A
