This Madness Must STOP: The Essence Of Government and The Opposition: In this election period, I have had very exciting, informative and intelligent debate with some of my friends namely, Dr MMaduka Chinemelum Ogwueleka OObiorah T. Momife IIfeanyi Okorocha Mac Mike, Dr AAnaele Iroh CChukwuemeka Ikemba Gburugburu Duru JJerome Jr Nwonuma FFrancis Van-Lare MMaddox Maduka-Ojimadu FFrank Uche Dibia RRaymond Ezealaand so many others, most of them with a different view of what the future of Nigeria should look like and respectfully so. But there are still some others who feel that their days will be numbered unless they go personal and thus, they leave the discourse and want to discuss Mike. Folks, I am not running for President yet- Jona and that man some of you call the Muslim guy and a few others are. Some have even ignorantly asked, what have you done for Nigeria? Or dont talk about what you dont know yet, they have noting to contribute. If I hear kpakam or piam from such people who dont have anything meaningful to contribute except to attack me again, muna unu ga emeju ihe afo. Indeed, Many of us have lost or actually never really care to understand the true meaning and value of Opposition in politics. In reality, it is the opposition in a democracy (let me use the harsh word enemy) that helps the government to see the true value of their decisions by seeing and listening to the enemys point of view; hearing all the questions, by knowing the oppositions assessment of the government. It is from the oppositions view that the government may indeed see the basic weaknesses and strengths of their own plans and programs. However, it is of essence to note that only an immature government and their supporters would see the opposition as an enemy. A matured government is always willing to learn and grow and profit from the wisdom of those the immature government calls the enemy (opposition). If in this election period we fail to understand and embrace this definition of opposition, we would only have succeeded in adding cynicism to the process of the challenges we collectively face. It would also mean that none of the issues we claim to be fighting for are really involved. And that while we are largely living comfortably, we only want to create hell for the poor. This Madness Must stop! No amount of divergent opinion would make anyone here any less my respected friend or brother, in so far as they dont go personal, but the truth must be told. If you dont like the topic, read and keep reading. Meanwhile, I will continue to maintain that there is no doubt in my mind that the Jonathan administration is on the wrong side of any long term economic success for Nigeria, because any success we record today without fighting corruption, shall eventually be eaten up by corruption. I believe that Corruption and failure to tackle it has been detrimental to Nigerians. The situation is one in which we must be ready to move for change and nit maintain the status quo. We must turn sharply away from this present government. We must reorder our priorities, so that real reform can begin in this country. The reality we are faced with as of now is that our tomorrow is today. Whatever choice we make on 14th February, 2015, will be with us for another 4 years. The choice therefore is for us to get it right. We have made mistakes in the past; this is yet another opportunity to correct it. We still have a choice today- Change Or More of the same. And for those of us who are still undecided, we must move past indecision to action and vote the right person to lead us right. And dont let anyone tell you that your vote wont count- we have moved beyond that state as a nation. NO HUMAND BEING WHO LOVES NIGERIA, WILL DARE RIG THIS ELECTION!!! It will not be business as usual. God bless Nigeria. (MIU, Jan. 2015).
