This Monday, BCE bows our heads to a near and dear friend, musician, and talented engineer. Some of you may know him as Blackmountain, others may know him as Jakers; but anyone who meets him will tell you that they just made a new friend. Jake Montenegro received his B.S. in Recording Technology from UC Denver in 2009 and has been involved as an engineer in notable recording projects such as 19ADDs 2011 album Gaia, Circle of Defeats 2013 album Formula For Failure, and an uncanny contribution on Chris Jenkins little known but priceless 2009 album Chris Amateur Hour. After dominating the Denver recording industry Montenegro started reaching out to other markets and found himself a successful stint in Sante Fe, NM where rumor has it he meet celebrities such as Robert Redford, Christina Ricci, and Lil Wayne. Beckoned by the open road, Montenegro left Sante Fe and settled in Dallas, TX where is currently constructing his own recording studio and turning the Dallas scene upside down.
