This New Years Rio and I made a change that we know many people not understand, or that they will disagree with. We have decided that being together is not the right thing to do. I know this is unexpected and most likely not understood, especially to our close friends and family. It is not done lightly. This decision came from prayer, long talks, much thought, and even more prayer. There was no event that caused this. There was no fight. Rio is an amazing girl, and she will always be a good friend of mine. We simply do not think that it is Gods plan for us to be together. Now before I get a million calls, texts, and comments of what happened?, please let me say this. Yes Im sad, but not regretful. Rio is still important to me and will continue to be so please do not try to comfort me by talking bad about her. On the other hand, and I hope this does not come off as rude, I know some people will want to throw in their opinion, or convince us to do one thing or the other, but please dont. When we announced our engagement there were many people who really hurt both of us in their attempt to help or offer advice that was more of criticism than anything. It left a lasting affect on us. I understand there will be questions and people will want to talk about it, and I will talk about it, but please give me time and please try not to be negative. Just as well, our relationship was very personal, and because of that we would like to keep this fairly personal as well. Please do not feel offended if we do not want to answer every question. While I know this does have an impact on the people around me, it shouldnt hurt anyone personally. And I just ask that everyone can please try to understand that this will have its greatest effect on us and no one else, and that this is something we are sure of.
