This President is self-destructing in warp speed. Even if we grant him his self-impression that he is God’s Gift to the Filipino species, amending the Constitution to allow a Presidential reelection will open the floodgates to the equal reelection of future Presidents who are personifications of God’s Wrath. An incumbent President always abuses governmental powers and misuses governmental resources to ensure reelection. The imagined benefits of having himself reelected would pale in comparison to the horrors that will be brought to the country if a succession of God’s Wrath Presidents are allowed to benefit from reelection. This President wants to amend the Constitution in pursuit of myopic visions for the country, but ignores the long term pestilence that the amendment will cause to this country. This President’s advisers should self-flagellate for failing to advise him to instead work in warp speed for the passage of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, the Anti-Trust law, and similar laws which will give this country long term benefits compared to his ego-injured driven moves to pursue reelection.
