This SUNDAY WE HOST THE AMAZING TAP PROJECT. iF YOU ARE INTO TAP THIS IS ONE YOU DONT WANT TO MISS OUT ON!1PM-4PM.Tap Rhythm Project – The Sunday Sessions! Tap Rhythm Project will be delivering monthly workshops with professional Rhythm Tap performers and choreographers such as Jess Murray, Junior Laniyan and more to follow soon! This is a unique opportunity to take workshops regularly with some of the leading tap artists in the UK. The workshops will be for advanced beginner/ intermediate level dancers. We will explore rhythms inspired by different styles of music and develop exciting sequences. A great opportunity to develop your dancing and learn more about music. The workshop will be followed by an informal jam where you can learn how to improvise with other dancers and musicians. Either take part or watch as you like. Contact: jess@tapproject 0794 667 0783 tapproject About Jess Murray: Jess is recognized as a leading artist in the UK’s rhythm tap community. She shares her passion for the art form through her work as a professional performer, teacher and project manager of Tap Rhythm Project. Her inspiration comes from ‘Hoofing’, which places musicality, improvisation and self-expression at the heart of the tap dancers craft. As a Hoofer, Jess is privileged to have collaborated and performed with some of the leading exponents of the field. She has appeared twice at the Purcell Rooms as part of London Jazz Festival with Heather Cornell and Andy Milne and Bandwidth in Finding Synaesthesia (November 2007) and again with Andrew Nemr and Junior Laniyan as part of the Michele Drees Jazz Tap Project (November 2013). She has been a member of UK rhythm tap company AboutTime since 2006 performing at The Tristan Bates Theatre in the West End, Chequer Mead Theatre in East Grinstead, Bath Dance Festival, Unity Festival - O2 Arena and the Greenwich Dance Agency cabaret evening amongst others. She was thrilled to perform as part of the opening act for the legendary John Hendrix at Ronnie Scotts (Nov 2010). Jess is widely known for hosting tap jams for Tap Rhythm Project in Manchester at Matt and Phreds Jazz Club and Band on the Wall and also guest hosting the London Tap Jam at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club. Other professional performances have included three UK tours (October 2012 – February 2014) and a run at Glastonbury Avalon Stage (June 2013) as a Clog dancer with sell out show The Lock In which received five star ratings from the Independent and Telegraph during the Edinburgh Fringe (2013). Jess also worked as a dancer for the French pyrotechnic and percussion company Les Commandos Percu performing in France, Belgium, Holland and collaborating to create On the Night Shift for an audience of 20,000 at the Olympic Opening Ceremony at Windermere in 2012.
