This Saturday! I Cant wait!!! https://facebook/events/468472793290554/ Its time for The Energy Collective! The real thing, not the tribute act. A mix of style with DJs on two floors including music in the smoking area until 11pm. Live UV in house painting by Dusty Tonez, Free Shots and face painting and most importantly the high energy, crazy people who are know as The Energy Collective Ravers. This one, as always, is for you guys! Bad Habit (1.00-2.30) - [Dnb] (The Energy Collective / United drumz / skunkheads) Renowned throughout drum and bass circles as being the man who pioneered the original jungle sound, and was the first to play what is now known as an amen break. Gregory Cylvester was quoted as saying he would never have picked up a pair of drum sticks had he not been coincidentally introduced to Bad Habits beats while getting his hair cut in a well known Virginia barber shop in 1968. Bad Habit has been playing at the Energy Collective for a few years now and always brings a bag full of bangers, his DJ skills and mixing technique behind the decks are second to none. This is gonna be bigger than the spire and packin more flava than a Macaris spice burger. Bad Habits Habits include not putting away plates after making toast, leaving the wet clothes in the washing machine and smoking cigarettes. Bren Moloney aka Yonder Nobleman (12-1) & Puba MC [Dnb] (Radio Na Life 106.4FM, Energy Collective) Bren Moloney, a drum and bass fanatic who has been mixing records and drinks at the same time for approximately ten years without spilling a drop. Expect to hear an eclectic mix of tunes from all corners of the dnb spectrum. Bren’s upbeat sets have gained him a residency at the Energy Collective and is a regular guest on Quality Marks show on Raidio na Life. He is basically a household name in his own household these days so expect big tingz from this self proclaimed up and coming turntable maestro. Bren spends his time off paying parking tickets, helping old ladies cross the road and awkwardly writing about himself in third person. Puba MC will be on mic duties and has rocked the collective in the past with his fresh lyrics and flow. Check it out! Paul Daly (11-12) (Irish Burners/ The Energy Collective) Daly is a name that hardly needs much of an introduction to the Energy Collective these days. With over a decade of DJ’ing experience under his belt you can expect to hear a refined sound that has been synonymous with his recent live sets, you never really know what Daly will pull out of the bag but quality assurance is guaranteed.. look out for some heavy house and maybe even some break beats from the man who arrived in Dublin port in the late nineties in search of work as an extra in Braveheart but bought a set of turntables instead. Recently tore the London and Irish Burning Man Decompression parties to shreds so this is one not to be missed! Jay Broseph (10-11) - (The Energy Collective - Secret Sounds) Having been mixing for the past two years or so Jay Broseph is a relative newcomer to Ireland’s DJ circuit. His reputation for playing eclectic sets with styles varying from deep house to glitch combined with seamless mixing skills has ensured a busy calendar ever since. His energetic mixes have been filling dance floors, fields and even deserts around the world from Valentia Island Festival to Secret Sounds, Pacionos, The Lost Society, Burning Man in Nevada and many more. When not DJ’ing Jay enjoys his days off catching up on the soaps, practicing tai chi and is an avid stamp collector. Delighted to have him back at the Energy Collective for the fourth time. Ion (9pm - 10pm) (NSCJ) Dusty Tonez (10 - 11pm Beer Garden) Expect the funkiest beats, blending break beat, funk, hip-hop, and bass music from the man known as Dusty Tonez. His remixs and bootlegs have been gaining recognition around the globe and his latest E.P has been sitting at the number 1 spot on Juno charts for over 3 months. Tonez is known for his versatile sets covering a wide range of styles. It’s no secret that Tonez attributes much of his success so far to the use of Feng Shui in the studio and the belief that the kettles proximity to the drum machine is a critical factor in producing those hit records. Get down early to check this out! Live Street Drummer (9:30pm - 10pm) Beer Garden Karl Maher - (8pm - 9:30pm) (NSJC)
