This Saturday at noon my family will turn all the phones to AIRPLANE mode for 1 week. We will be spending the week in Port Maria, in St Marys Parish in Jamaica. As part of a team of 23 from Cokesbury Church, we will be helping an incredible ministry (ACE) as they work to impact the lives of the people they come in contact with. Some the people we will meet are poor, but joyful. Some are invalid, but hopeful. Some are hungry, but willing to share love. The people we meet and serve will make lasting impressions to the people on our team. We will be working on a construction site, building homes for a childrens village. We will be caring for patients in the local public infirmary. We will be tutoring in a few remote schools. We will be helping care for the local sustainable farming program. All in all, its a hard trip, full of beautiful scenery, and people in need. Jamaicans are amazing, kind, loving and resourceful. In fact, they probably ought to send teams to US to teach us how to live and be happy with what we are given. During this unsettled time in our world, please keep our team in your thoughts and prayers. While Jamaica is a safe place to travel to, intercessions for safe travel and protection are always appreciated. Thanks to everyone for your prayer and support. I know that small steps, small acts of kindness do help impact lives, and hopefully begin to impact the world. And yeah . . . Ill eat some jerk chicken for each of you! Peace Paul Jones
