This Story Might Make You Laugh (at me)!!! I remember years ago I was getting ready for a meeting. I put on a really nice suit, ran out the door with my briefcase and had a little time to spare. It was a beautiful day outside in Vegas so I decided to get my car washed. I pulled into the car wash, rolled down my windows, paid the attendant, and pulled my car onto the conveyer belt, dropped my car into neutral and voila! My phone was blowing up with text messages, I had to present that night and I was preparing for what I was gonna speak about so I pulled out my journal and was reading through some quotes I wanted to share. In the midst of all this hustle and bustle I forgot one key thing. Can you guess what that was? Yep, you most likely guessed it. I forgot to roll up the windows. Haaaaaaa, all of a sudden Im getting blasted with car wash suds, soap and water from both sides of the car. It was freaking hysterical! I was laughing so hard at the thought of what people were thinking if they happened to be watching this whole thing transpire and I couldnt even get a grip. I was drenched in soap and water! My journal, briefcase and the entire car were soaked. So what do you think I did? For those who know me, you know exactly what I did. I first of all rolled up the windows. I laughed my butt off at myself. And I went to the meeting soap and suds and all. Haaaa, why not? It made for a great ice breaker and one heck of a funny story. I presented that night and I remember the meeting being great. If you cant make fun of yourself who can you make fun of? I have found that presenting is much easier when you just dont care what people are thinking. I have also found that sometimes the best way to get a crowd to like you is to make fun of yourself. I hope this post had you laughing! Today was a blah day for me and writing this picked me up a bit. I think laughter is one of the greatest keys to happiness. I dont have all the answers. As a matter of fact I dont have many of the answers but when I come across something that clocks for me, I naturally turn around and share it.
