This Sunday join Mr. Met, the world’s most famous sports mascot, at the LIU Brooklyn Paramount (corner of DeKalb and Flatbush Avenues) for a free event from noon to 4pm focusing on fitness, health and nutrition for all ages. Sports clinics for children age 6 and up in basketball, soccer and tennis will be led by LIU coaches and athletes. Fitness instruction as well as capoeira demonstrations with Mestre Foca of Capoeira Brooklyn will be available for all ages. The American Heart Association, Brooklyn Hospital, Brooklyn Medical Plaza, and the Talk On Diabetes Foundation will provide medical screenings and information on wellness. The Greene Hill Food Coop, the Myrtle Avenue Revitalization Project, and Sturdee Health Foods will provide healthy food choices.
