This Sunday’s feature game came from League 1 with a game between 2 of our newer teams, Cristal Palace and Unathletico Madrid. Palace had won 2 from 2, whereas Madrid were yet to get off the mark in their first season. Cristal Palace: George Panayotov Ben Voss Simon West Harry Girling James Mattocks Callum Brown Nick Sutherland Rob Haynes Unathletico Madrid: Jamie “Dumbo” Proud Wayne Jerrim Scott Barnes Kieran Ryder Dale Milner Sam Williams Palace took and early lead in this one as Simon scored, but after a couple saves from their keeper, Harry, Madrid equalised through Wayne. The same player then rattled the crossbar and shortly after Madrid gave away a penalty for stepping into the box, which Simon dispatched. Nick powered home an effort on the rebound for 3-1 in a game that looked to be full of goals. Dale then scored on a quick, slick counter attack and added a quick fire second to bring the score all level. Jamie then struck the post as Madrid went in search for the lead. They then found it as Dale scored his third just reaching the ball before it went into the box. Madrid then hit the woodwork again as Dale hit the post in search of more goals. However it was Palace and Nick that scored after a sweeping team move, 4-4. It was Palace’s turn to be denied by the frame of the goal as Nick struck the post, but regained possession to find the net. Palace were gifted another penalty after a 1-2 between keeper and defender, but this time Simon just missed the bottom corner. Palace had the upper hand and Nick was a massive part of it, hitting one across goal for 6-4. Nick then grabbed 2 more just before the break, firstly direct from a free kick and then at the second attempt after a save. Half Time: Cristal Palace 8-4 Unathletico Madrid Into the 2nd half and the first goal came from Simon, who seconds before decided he would wait before being replaced. It was a great decision and after making it 9-4 he immediately left the field. George then scored a beauty from inside his own half but the ball was adjudged to have gone over board height before finding the top corner. Dale then caressed a great shot curling along the floor but again hit the post. At this point Madrid were wondering if luck was against them, especially Dale who hit the woodwork 3 times alone. To add insult to injury James then went up the other end and scored to make it 10-4. Sam then scored 2 goals back to back to bring Madrid within 4 goals and Dale found the goal straight after to bring it to 10-7. However Simon provided a much needed goal to the relief of Palace for 11-7. The same player then scored again late on before Jamie danced through the Palace defence to make it 12-8 on the whistle. Full Time: Cristal Palace 12-8 Unathletico Madrid
