This Ted Talk is eye opening and frightening in many ways. Sherry Turkl puts us front and center with the reality we are creating with technology- one that disconnects us from each other and ourselves. We live with an epidemic of loneliness. She doesnt call on us to turn away from technology (phew!) but she does remind us that we have the power to reconsidering what technology brings to our lives and use it to know ourselves and others in a truly connected way. ted/talks/sherry_turkle_alone_together I can certainly relate to everything she says and often find myself hiding or disconnecting behind technology. I have also discovered one of the greatest ways to know myself and my world is through my camera.
