This The Season to be Jolly!!! Well unless you watch the news. Im sad that any family struggles to eat or pay bills. My mom drove spud truck and worked in a grocery store to raise 2 boys in a small farm town. And it gave me a taste of what I didnt want in my later life. I respect her for working so many hours doing what was kind of a mans job. And am happy she strived for a better career. But it was on her.. She studied to pass the test and became a realtor. Then moved till she could land a job working as TSA agent in Spokane and chose to transfer to Wenatchee doing the same. She might not be rich but she worked to find comfort. Now this morning Im watching a Jack In The Box in Bellevue being protested by minimum wage employees. It saddens me. They are demanding $15.00 per hour. They live in the most wealthy city in Washington and probably ride public transport to work from outside citys. But the term minimum was never meant to raise a household. It is what we do to climb the ladder to the next level. If you receive your raise then society will be charged 9.00 per hamburger. And soon your restaurant will become very quiet. You will be laid off. Then search for a new job. The cost of EVERYTHING around you will also increase. So what did you gain? Other than saying you are a small part of the next rise of inflation, NOTHING. Were all spokes in a wheel. All of us contribute to society. And for those spokes willing to bear a larger load they should get more reward. For those unfortunate who just cant work I hope the government has systems in place to help. But I hope the systems arent being abused by leaches first. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Maybe this year we accept our faults swallow our pride and strive for the next level? And if not?
