This Video clip is from the Kaleideoscope performance with Pacific Festival Ballet/California Dance Theatre held on August 17, 2013 at the Thousand Oaks Performing Arts Center. This was unfortunately Nadyas final choreographic venture and she astounded me as well as everyone else around her with her enormous fortitude to be able to set this piece with my assistance, all while undergoing the agonizing strain of coping with Cancer and Chemotherapy. The Schumann Carnaval music is brilliantly played by Dimitri Kennaway, Nadyas brother. The young student dancers were technically challenged by this piece having only had only a few amount of rehearsals but they certainly applied themselves to the best of there abilities. I would personally like to thank all of the dancers, faculty and administrators at Pacific Dance Theatre for there care and love of Nadya over the years that she instructed their. Also, and most importantly, the doctors at the Womens Cancer Center at Stanford are to be commended for the incredible care and sensitivity that they had provided Nadya with, for without them, I doubt very much she would have even seen this day come to fruition. This piece deserves to be kept in our company repertoire. Its always nice to hear from you !
