This WAS my speech I had and should have stuck with Hi everyone Im going to apoligize in advance as Im not at all a public so speaker. ..as we gather here on this bitter sweet day I cant begin to thank you all for all that you have done for my dad myself and our family. I cant begin to tell you all what it means. With out your generous donations, your help love and support this day would not be what it Is. I have always loved growing up in this safe small community and its always been home. But not til I put this benefit on did I know what it really meant. It meant that when times get tough we all pull together and are really a big family we look out for one another and help those in need. When I decided to do this for my dad I literally just jumped into it along the way I met new kind ppl I had ppl I barely ever spoke too come to me and say I want to help what can i do anything you need just ask. When your donations started to come I cried w happiness at all the kindness and what was being done for MY dad. I always knew my dad had an impact on this community as I work at the school and i cant turn a corner w out someone asking how he is I cant enter a building w out someone saying tell him I said hi and that hes missed. He was at most of your kids games and parades he watched them grow and graduate where he cried each time he seen them become what they were destined to be being he treated them as his own scolded them when they acted up...and he still will...and hugged them when they succeeded he got them there safely and back home being at the school a total of 31 yrs plays a big impact on a lot of our lives not too mention if they were hurt or sick he was almost always the first one there as hes been a volunteer fireman for 45 yrs. I can remember as a kid like it was yesterday wed be on a family outing and if that pager went off we were onn the way to a call in middle of the nt he was there. Ive known all this n what hes done but again until I started this benefit for the last month It truely showed me just how much everything he has done in his life time has impacted this community as we are all here today to give back and show him love and support as he fights this fight. And I cant thank you all enough for everything you have done...
