This Week October 15th: #Focus (part of our current Heavenly Hash series) The Drive meets at 7pm in the First Baptist Orlando Student Center (all are welcome to join us to pray over the room, speaker, worship team, new visitors and other needs from 6:40-6:50pm). If there could be an alternate hash tag for where were going this week, it might be #ShutUpAndPitch, in keeping with the baseball season. On the field there are talkers. They know that they are facing a giant and yet a giant, robbed of his or her focus, can be reduced to common man. Pitchers and catchers make a sport of this on the baseball diamond. From the catcher with his comments behind the plate to the pitcher instigating from the mound, talkers talk and are determined to use their words to undermine, distract and essentially rob from the natural gifts and abilities of the one theyre up against. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
