Me: Silence Caller: I am raising funds for a charity that has a young boy with Cancer in the area who desperately needs urgent treatment within the next 6 months or he will lose his life .. we are looking to raise funds for his family to help out and as a local business owner we thought you may be able to help .. would you be able to either donate some money or arrange a fund raiser with your customers Me: Yes of course Ill help, please give me the details of the child that needs our help and I will get in contact with his parents and start straight away Caller: Sorry I am unable to do that... but can you help anyway Me: Last year I raised nearly £15,000 for charity... I am more than happy to help raise funds and have the ability to do so for someone who is in need!! but I want to know who that person is and I want to speak to his parents Caller: Again sorry but I cannot give out that information Me: Ok I have a solution.. I understand you have to abide to pricey terms so how about this ... contact his parents and tell them I want to help and will aim to raise £5,000 over the next 6 weeks. Our members and myself will work hard to ensure we raise the money and help save his life ... everything else can wait and this will be my key focus. Give them my contact details and have them call me straight away Caller: Sorry I cant do that Me: In other words you have no real interest in saving this boyss life .. you just want us to donate to your charity so that your bosses for this non for profit organisation can drive around in flashy cars, live in big houses and demand huge salaries while the people they are supposed to be helping are dying around them????? I can pretty much guarantee that if you contacted his parents they would have no problem with you giving me their details when I have just offered to save their childs life !!!
