This afternoon I am posting a short missive from Aviles Street in St. Augustine, Florida as my wife and I take a couple of days to visit our son and his family who won’t have enough time off work to come be with us. With all the “stuff” that bombards our lives every day I hope you will take a few minutes to be with family. And for those who no longer have family to visit I hope you can get together with friends and share the laughs and memories that the holidays bring. There is enough suffering and loss in the world every day without creating some more “down and out moments”. While walking the streets of America’s Oldest City I came across a building with green shutters and strap hinges that I thought would make a nice comparison to those on the Tara façade. Although the wooden shutter is not an exact match to Tara, the color and the hinge itself are very close. It is nice to see how Selznick and his creative team made Tara so realistic. It’s these little observances and revelations that make the restoration work so much more like a mystery wrapped in a giant puzzle…. The last tour of the season will happen this Saturday and as I have over 20 folks booked I suggest that if anyone needs to come along,….you had better contact me “sooner rather than later” as time is running out. You can still order an autographed copy of The Official Guide to the Saving Tara Project by following the link at the top of the facebook page. And for those who desire to donate to the work of preserving the Tara façade you can follow this link to donate on Paypal which will send the money straight to the work of restoration…….. https://paypal/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=GPL3F9VQAXS2S God bless you all and have a safe and happy holiday. I look forward to your reading and commenting on the posts and I hope to add much more video and a few more surprises in the coming days,….all with the purpose of Saving Tara for her fans around the world. I’ll be looking for you up at the gate. Peter
