This afternoon, I picked up my badge for CONvergence tomorrow, 37 seconds in line as opposed to over four hours last year. Afterward, I spent some time going over the program book, figuring out my schedule, and as usual, theres about four panels and movies Id like to catch for every one its possible to attend. #CVG2014 truly makes it necessary for one to learn to prioritize. Most conventions, youre lucky if you find a panel or two a day youd like to attend; in my pocket program, Ive circled fifty-six. Not taking my camera this year; any shots I must take, Ill take with my phone. I feel like Ive been edging back into my shell, way too much, as of late, so Im trying to put myself into a position where I dont have the excuse of photography to keep people at a distance. Maybe Ill even attend a party or three; talk to some people I dont know. Fingers crossed! I also put my writing name -- Guy Capet -- upon my name badge this year. Never gone under my pseudonym at a con before; Im trying this as a spur to make my writing a much, much higher priority that its been lately. Whether this works...we shall see. If not, Ill try a false mustache. :)
