This afternoon, a dear old man at my mothers assisted living stood - TopicsExpress

This afternoon, a dear old man at my mothers assisted living stood up in a meeting and explained that one day his daughter picked him up and told him she was taking him to her house, but instead dropped him off at the ALF and left him. He said he wanted to go home. There wasnt a dry eye in the room. The incoming new leadership for the facility did all the right things. They supported him and promised to meet with him immediately, to get to the bottom of things. And then they did meet with him. I dont know the upshot of that meeting. But, when he emerged from it, the ongoing manager also did the right thing. She embraced him and told him that he was loved and cherished there, and that she would get in touch with his daughter. I do not know the truth of this story. The very-old are sometimes mistaken on the facts and confused into thinking things are a different way than they really are. But this was his truth. It made me very sad. And also glad that he was dealt with in a good way. Hes one of my sisters favorites there, and reminds us of Dad. A very cool old guy.
