This afternoon, we attended a performance of Christopher Plummers A Word or Two, which he wrote and which he performs in a one-person show. Autobiographical, it is all about books, language, prose and poetry. It was wonderful, although sad in the last 15 minutes or so (80 minutes overall with no intermission). He lost his way and couldnt remember all the lines hed written, thus needing a prompter, who helped him along. [He was born in 1929, so hes 84 or 85.] At first, I thought it was part of the act, since he was talking about aging and death, but then realized it wasnt. He apologized at the curtain call for his lapses. Nevertheless, a great afternoon of theater.
