This afternoon while getting something at the tool room, I met a young man from Los Angles who was smiling ear to ear and just seemed to be as happy as could be. He told me that he had just become a Journeyman a few months ago and that this was his first travel job and one of the first journeyman jobs he has had. He was so enthusiastic and excited to be on the job and meeting new people and having new experiences. While I will admit that initially I kind of rolled my eyes (in theory not actually), but then I kind of had a reflection and started thinking. How many of us are excited when we go to work? How much enthusiasm do we have for another day we have when that alarm goes off? Or do we continue to be beat down trading hours for dollars? Now will I take this to heart and have a wonderful attitude and be excited when I hit the gate in the morning to start another long day? Pretty doubtful I will generously confess. :-) But it was refreshing to see someone just beginning lifes journey having not yet been beat down by the drudgery and monotony of our careers and lives, and enjoying every second of the new adventure.
