This also happened to be the Third Bloodiest Battle of the entire US Civil War, and is documented in Suwannee Divide A Civil War Novel, written By a fourth generation Floridian, Gene Jones of Sarasota, FL.. This is an excellent book, about a battle most of us Yankees never learned about in school. It is also where, as well as why, that huge Confederate Flag flies over I-75 close to Tampa. Gene Jones is also the president of Florida Veterans for Common Sense. My Question would be; Is there a Confederate Monument at Gettysburg? After all, EVERYONE who was killed in both of these battles, were Americans.
