This appalling video is doing the rounds and being used by the usual suspects to vilify Israel, so I thought Id have a look. First thing that struck me is that while I dont speak either, I have heard enough of both to know the difference between Hebrew and Arabic. What is being spoken on this clip is definitely Arabic, which made me a bit suspicious of the claim that it was a Jewish child beating a Palestinian child. Less than a minute later, I was able to discover that the video was taken in Lebanon and that it shows a Lebanese girl hitting a Syrian boy. Or a Shiite beating a Sunni. Or something - its Lebanon, anything is possible. What it isnt, is a Jewish girl beating a Palestinian boy. Almost everything that almost everyone says about Israel is a lie or a half truth or a distortion of the truth. Truth isnt that hard to find - assuming you are open minded enough to even seek it. Which if the last week or so on Facebook is any indicator, almost no one is. None of which helps the poor boy in this disgusting clip. But as its not a Jew hitting him, chances are that hes still being beaten in a room somewhere in Lebanon and no one is going to complain about it.
