This article came up because it sparked some interesting thoughts in Meredith L. Patterson. You can find those thoughts and much good discussion on her feed. I read the article and found something quite different. I hearby dub my debate/interpretive style Cockney Rhyming Debate. The completely insane things I will occasionally point out regarding an issue are the result of using the intellectual brutalism explained in the article as a tool to locate those insane points. I gave it that name because the big point is the implicit information uncovered by decoding the craziness. Its a triply-great approach: It lampoons the brutalist approach; it uncovers and illuminates the unintended consequences of poorly-thought-out premises; and, it has permitted me to develop a test for great minds without directly falling prey to whatever my current set of prejudices may be. (I.E. People like Meredith, or Michael Steamweed, who have caught and interpreted every one of these that theyve seen as best I can remember. Then theres the larger community of folks who have caught at least one.) Ok, enough patting myself on the back. My arms tired.
