This article from Politico highlights the problem we’ve been talking about at the Commission on Political Reforms - that voter turnout in congressional primaries is too low. The Commission, as part of its “Blueprint to Strengthen our Government,” has recommended that states and political parties strive to dramatically increase the number of voters who cast ballots in political primaries to 30 percent of eligible voters by 2020 and 35 percent by 2026. The recommendation goes on to say that states should create a single congressional primary date in June. This is just one of the Commission on Political Reforms recommendations to strengthen our government. See more and join the movement at bipartisanpolicy.org/projects/political-reform/citizens
