This article from back in February, which discusses the age of the zircon crystal found in Australian rock that dated to 4.4 billion years ago, shows that the secular scientific community is begrudgingly accepting that the Earth had a crust that far back in time. However, as you will also note in the article, the scientists are still clinging to the theory that the Earth formed from the rubble of the early solar system, though now they say the molten Earth cooled at lot quicker than previously believed. Why the insistence on trying to maintain that theory? It is because, if you base the physics of everything on the second law of thermodynamics, that is, if entropy has been a constant back into deep-time, that is what the mathematics requires. However, what if entropy was NOT always present in the physical universe? That is, what if it was introduced over 4.4 billion years ago when Lucifer fell? If that is the case, then all the theories about solar system formation, indeed the so-called Big Band formation of the entire universe 13.5 billion years ago, is also wrong. This would also give strong support for Gods creation of the heaven and Earth as Ex nihilo, just as the Bible states (Genesis 1:1, see also Job 38:4-11.) Science is still trying to catch up with things you can learn from the Bible without a Ph. D. in any discipline. When you take what the Bible says on face-value, rightly-divided, it can stand its own against any intellectual argument.
