Here is why: Ancient religious texts were largely said to be metaphorical in nature, where the gods symbolized Celestial bodies, events and precession or even Heroes and elements of physical nature. This is especially true when looking at the Creation myths of two very important early cultures: The Sumerians and the Israelites. Both cultures said Mankind was formed from the clay of Earth. Sumeria: epic of Gilgamesh; The Creation of Enkidu (Straightway, this) Concept of Anu, and, washing her hands, (then) Aruru Finger’d some clay, on the desert she moulded (it): [(thus) on the desert] Israel: Holy Bible; Genesis 2:7 Then the LORD God formed a man from the clay of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
