This article helps pinpoint just how bogus Hollywoods (and other corporation) piracy claims really are: They constantly send bogus copyright violation claims, KNOWING that they dont own the copyright and have even requested take downs of open sources software. It appears that these bogus notices are strictly in an effort to drive up their numbers, inflating the apparent incidents of piracy. In another article available on Techdirt, they are also inflating the amounts they claim that they win in their lawsuits against file sharing sites--probably losing money over the costs of their lawsuits. One has to wonder what is really driving this war of attrition, especially when you consider that Hollywood, etc. are notorious for ripping off everyone, including themselves.
