This article is about a find back in December of 2011. What is most interesting about it is that the article states that this is law in the United Kingdom: when a person finds a valuable artifact... If an inquest declares that it is treasure, it will be offered to the British Museum or a local museum which has it valued by an independent board of experts. If the museum wants the find, it must pay the market value of the treasure to the finder and/or landowner. If it does not, the finder can keep it. What that means is that museums and other institutions have the right of first refusal at market value. Therefore if they dont want it the finder then can keep it or sell it as they choose. Nice little article about this find, and has some great pictures as well. Clover -80
