This article is another symptom of how our politics is struggling in todays environment. In addition, to the challenges posed by globalization & changes to our technology, we all to a greater or lessor extent, as result of them, becoming more fearful & individualistic. The result is that we are less deferential, habitual &, more worryingly, less willing to compromise since we tend to live more of our lives in our own head space constantly reinforcing our own opinions/worldview. The art of compromise needs to be rediscovered. If we dont then our political centre ground will become less populated.
