This article made remember an incident which once happened to me one day while at Berlin Tegel airport waiting to fly to Amsterdam. I was only 26 naive and full of life, I didnt know anything about drug couriers at all. So there I was pacing up and down in the check in area anxious because they hadnt opened the counter for my flight to check in. Then came along a Ghananian girl and she looked so anxious and restless and she told some story about a funeral and that she wanted to go and make an urgent call in the ladies. ..hmm... so she asked me to hold her hand luggage for her and said I will catch up with u in the departure lounge I promise. I agreed. Oh yes I hear you that was dumb...then something just struck me and it didnt feel right and I just dropped that bag and walked far from it. I dont know what happened because in those days I had no idea about drug couriers! Ages later she comes back and found her bag on the floor and picked up and gave a dagger look. Then as we we made our way through the scanners i passed and turned overmy shoukder just to check outbof curiosity and bang I saw three Polizei (Germany police) taking that girl and her bag away. Thats when it dawned on me. I shivered and almost wet myself. I cried trying to imagine if I wld have been able to prove the bag wasnt mine. #Flashback #Article Brought back the memories.
