This article reminded me about our parenting lifestyle ever since my wifey, Lucia went back to work full time in the mortgage lending world. Luckily I can work from home and the office but things are not as peachy as they seem working from home with 5 kids with the twins about to turn 3. Lately weve felt that weve been neglecting the kids by focusing more on our careers. We felt a disconnect in the household which Im sure many can relate to at times. On Wednesday I was at a Realtor appreciation happy hour at Clydes sponsored by Van Metre. There I was talking to our dear friends Debbie and Tad which are also my Team Leaders. We talked about how life is just so fast and furious and we never have enough time to take care of house projects. I discussed how my basement is a disaster and it hasnt been used by anyone in over 7 months. One of the reasons we bought a bigger home was so the kids could utilize it. Yesterday morning, I was about to hop on the pc for my morning prospecting routine and then it hit me. I just knew that I had to bring that basement back to life not only for my kids well being but also for my sanity. :) I had Lucia go to Home Depot and pick up a shampoo steam cleaner to clean the stains in the living room. The stains are now removed and the carpet looks great. After cleaning the basement from 10am to 8pm, I am happy to say it looks pretty good. What was more rewarding was capturing my girls water color painting, chalk board drawing, playing the mini piano, and just doing all kinds of activities instead of just watching tv all day. To reward this Dad, my amazing wifey ordered pizza for dinner and we had dinner in the basement for the first time ever. Its actual livable space now!! This morning the twins woke up and asked if they can go to the new basement.
