This author might as well be writing about Rosa Parks. Ms Parks annoyed people who were just trying to have a normal bus ride. The context within which these protests occur is admittedly difficult to comprehend because we are more inclined to invest our thoughts in more immediate and selfish concerns, so let me offer an explanation: we exist within a system that oppresses people, so we are responsible for that oppression. Just like everything else in life where something happens that seems beyond our control, we are still responsible for it unless we are literally children. And just like the bus riders who undoubtedly felt Ms Parks was out of line for resisting orders from the bus driver, racists seem to feel that these activists are out of line for disrupting the apparent normal order of everyday life. I think as long as we continue to participate in the systematic oppression of others, we should expect to be annoyed by the oppressed. If you think you dont have any choice but to participate, then you arent thinking.
