This basically sums up my opinion on Tony Dungys words regarding Michael Sam. The man of course has the right to his opinion, but its still a disappointment. Maybe because his words, demeanor and intelligence has always reminded me greatly of my own father. Some have the opinion that Sam doesnt have what it takes to make it in the NFL either way. Perhaps they are right, but nobody thought Tom Brady would become a franchise QB and future HOFer. Its a great disappointment to hear the words come from Dungys mouth. A man who has done incredible things for the Tampa Bay community. A man who supported Michael Vick in his return to the NFL. Time will tell what kind of player Sam turns out to be, but that doesnt change how much the importance his journey into professional football means on a greater scale.
