This beautiful little ball python (Python regius)is the newest - TopicsExpress

This beautiful little ball python (Python regius)is the newest addition to the Animal Embassy family. In her short life she has already had two homes. They primarily inhabit savanah and scruland habitat where they hunt for gerboas, gerbils and other small rodents. Their range extends from Sierra Leone on the Wet coast of Africa, east to Sudan. They are a shy species, with a largely subterranean lifestyle. Our little one has not been handled much and exhibts typical ball python defensive behavior, seen here, hiding her face in the middle of the ball. With a maximum length of 4-5 feet these short, stout pythons are common in the pet trade, unlike their giant cousins, the Burmese and reticulated pythons. Unforunately ball pythons are common in the adoption world; our new addition is our third.
