This beauty was found in the guest bathroom the other day, trying to escape the extermination. Sometimes mistaken for a brown recluse by an untrained & scared eye....but he poses no threat. I believe this is a young male giant house spider. He has since been successfully transferred to his new home outside. :) And FYI: Brown recluse (website picture included, photo credit: insectidentification.org) have a distinctive violin shape on their top & look much more threatening. Outside of that distinctive violin marking, there arent any other designs or patterns on their bodies. Also, they are not found indoors too often. Brown recluse tend to make their homes in dark isolated areas outside around piles of wood, under porches and places like that. Its not to say they cannot ever make it indoors, but hence the name... they are more reclusive in nature. And believe it or not, they are not aggressive; just very venomous. Like any spider, they only bite to protect themselves or if they feel threatened. And thats your little daily tidbit from your favorite spider lady. Lol.
