This being that time of the year, the National Geographic Channel - TopicsExpress

This being that time of the year, the National Geographic Channel just replayed their 2013 documentary, JFK-The Final Hours. Unlike so many other programs that focus on the actual assassination, this one covers the public events JFK attended in San Antonio, Houston and Ft. Worth in the days and hours just prior. It also includes recent interviews with lots of everyday people who were little kids whose parents took them to see the President. It is a very bittersweet film because it just shows JFK and Jackie having such a great time and how much people genuinely loved them. Ive never seen most of the footage of the events and really found it all fascinating. The most powerful moments however are when they interview folks who are now in the sixties and they choke up when remembering how the made eye contact with JFK or shook Jackies hand for just a few seconds. I think you see why the country followed this guy into outer space. If they play again on cable and you have the chance watch it, please do. Heres also where you can find it on Youtube: youtube/watch?v=jl3jIiMNSQE
