This blog type writing came out of this afternoons very pointed meditation.... Oh boy, this energy inside of me today is sharp, direct, fierce and commanding. On this occasion it is black or white, this choice or that choice, playing an honest game or not. Simple. This energy shot through my body today when one of the revolutionary entrepreneurs who I coach shared that he was feeling anxious about charging ‘spiritual’ people the fee that is a match for the value of his work. He’d received an email from one of his contacts saying that all the people in her (spiritual) world have scoffed in the past at paying $50 for canapés and drinks, let alone paying his fee! Oh my this fierce energy wants to shake my fists and gesticulate like a mad Italian that it is exactly for this reason that my revolutionary friend MUST charge a fee that’s going get people by the balls. It is exactly for this reason that he would gratefully bid farewell to the people saying a big fat NO and welcome with open arms and the widest and wildest of heart the others who have no other choice but to say YES, not because they can think it, but because they can feel it. Do these ‘spiritual’ people who say they lead from great passion and purpose, who say that they were the courageous ones to follow their dreams rather than following the city flock, do they really want success? Do they really want to shower others with their God-given gifts, as they say they do? Playing with other ‘spiritual’ people who share their same lack of self-value, who feel safer to charge low, innocuous fees, who for some reason find it difficult to say ‘I choose to make great money from doing what I love and I stand proud in that choice’…..these people will only continue to walk the familiar path of disappointment, disillusionment and failure. Why do I know this? Because I have been one of them. Those of you who have found what inspires you, who have dared to leave your day jobs and pursue your heart-felt dreams, you are the fortunate ones. Many others have not yet seen an alternative. Be thankful. But please start telling the truth. By continuing to play safe, by continuing to be afraid of offending people, by continuing to go under the radar, you are wasting what it is that you have that could change peoples’ lives forever and more so, you are living a spiritual furphy. (for the non-Australians, ‘furphy’ is Aussie slang for an erroneous story) You are saying that you are doing what you love, but you are not loving yourself in the process. Here is the mismatch. Here is the misalignment. And if your service at the end of the day is about others loving and trusting themselves more greatly, how can this truly be if you are not modeling this yourself? You are doing everyone a DIS-service and it is because of this, that your success is but a whiff of what it could be. ‘Used car salesmen’ are known for their dishonesty. Well you are being dishonest too. It just comes in a prettier package. So, I thank my wonderful revolutionary entrepreneur client for you have disabled within me with even more clarity the world of resistance and delay. The synergy that you and I have shared by innocently sharing your anxiety today will enable people reading this to get real and make a choice.
