This board walk has always been my favorite, passing through a deep valley underneath tall trees with ferns growing along the tree trunks all the way to the top limbs. It was extra special (and slippery) on this morning with the frost on the leaves and boardwalk. This trail is located on Cougar Mountain (one of the Issaquah Alps) The loop hike starts at the SR 900 parking lot (about 20 minutes from my house) and follows the Whittaker Wilderness Peak trail through this valley to the top of the forested peak and back to the trail head on the Wilderness Cliffs trail, about a two to three hour hike.
