This book has been my carrot. When I visited the Blue Willow book shop back in February, I saw an advanced reader copy of Emily Giffins new novel The One & Only on the shelf and I was so excited that I began my own event a few minutes early, as I was busy begging them to please please please please let me have it. The Blue Willow ladies are so nice (or Im so obnoxious) that I was allowed to take the book. SCORE! Heres the thing about treasure, though. When you get your hands on it, its often difficult to part with it. So, Emilys new book became the carrot for all of the crap I had to do. Each time Id finish a difficult task, I would tell myself that reading this book would be my reward. I now have Emily to thank for helping me put to bed a million different chores over the past few months, so today on her publication day, Im done with all the big stuff (for now) and Im finally able to begin. I know Im going to love The One & Only, and I hope you will, too!
