This bugs me every time - SOMEBODY please weigh in here! Now, animal abuse breaks my heart too, but read the related article i added below - notice the part where the EARA defends the airline? What i wonder is - what would you do if you heard new medicine was tested on humans? Children? People who are catastrophically handicapped, or diseased? Youd shit yourself protesting such action, of course! So how exactly should scientists test new medicines, new theoretical therapies for healing? Do you think transporting these animals any other way would be less terrifying for them? Or are you protesting the fact that these monkeys are rest subjects at all? If so, how do you - or PETA, since they never seem to suggest any alternatives - propose we test new therapies? Make no mistake, i think this is brutal too, and every news item i read breaks my heart. But while animal testing may be ugly, there are proven therapies that work today, that would never have been authorized without testing, which is forbidden on humans, at least until proven safe on animals first! So how exactly should science proceed, because with all the understandable outrage over animal testing, NO ONE ever seems to propose ANY other way to advance these sciences! Just asking...
